HMRC does LGBT - choose option 2 for some showtunes

In an era when HMRC now disturbingly makes no secret that the department considers itself to have a political function, we recently had this rot.

Now, we have HMRC reaching out to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community with its latest "faux-rights" customer initiative.  The pamphlet, of which apparently 5,000 hardcopies are due for distribtion at Pride, can be downloaded here.   I have no idea, nor do I care, whether Mike Eland is, himself, gay, bisexual or, even, one of Europe's five thousand pre or post-op transexuals,. But he is, nevertheless, now not only HMRC Director General but, also, LBG & Transgender Diversity Champion.

What next ?  Perhaps, HMRC will flagrantly waste more public money on unearthing Hector, who, since being binned in 2001, has come out of the closet and is now Mr Eland's new special friend, Hector the Homosexual.
