Tightening the squeeze

The IFS has issued a briefing note setting out its illustrative projections for government borrowing and  debt over the coming years.  The IFS predicts that, for the current budget to be righted by 2016, public spending would have to be frozen in real terms or taxes raised by £1,250 p.a. for the average family.
