EIS advance assurance

For those companies contemplating the issue of shares which will satisfy the Enterprise Investment Scheme rules, the Revenue has provided a form to be used when seeking an advance assurance that the company will be a qualifying company, the shares to be issued will be eligible, and the money raised will be used for a qualifying activity.

Given the intricacies of EIS, such an assurance is only going to be of limited value but it might, nevertheless, prove useful as a tool for companies when approaching prospective investors.
