Associated companies

As part of the simplification review, HMRC has issued a consultation document on the introduction of a proposed fragmentation test which would apply when determining whether companies should be treated as asociates for the purposes of the small companies' rate of corporation tax.  The closing date for responses is 22 January 2010.  The condoc can be downloaded here.
