HMRC property campaign

HM Revenue & Customs have announced a campaign to track down those landlords in receipt of undeclared property income (and, by implication, those who have made disposals giving rise to unreported capital gains).

Letters will be sent on a rolling basis to property owners where the Revenue have reason to believe there is a let property but no record of reported letting activity. Where the individual has appointed an agent, the Revenue will also contact the agent.
